So, let’s get into the drama. At Newman Enterprises, Victor updates Nick on the situation with Adam and Chelsea—they’ve headed to Baltimore to bring Connor home. Nick is hopeful that this means the worst is over, and Victor is optimistic that Adam can now focus on running Newman Media. Nick, however, is also interested in seeing if his mother can take charge at Chancellor. Victor reminds him that Jill and Billy currently own the company, and he’s curious about how Nick plans to handle taking it from them.
Meanwhile, Billy and Lily are at the office discussing a new logo for Chancellor. Lily notices Billy seems off and asks if something is wrong. Over at Sharon’s place, Maria knocks and calls out for Sharon or Faith before entering. Faith tells Maria that Sharon is missing and hasn’t responded to their texts. The house is a mess, and Maria is worried because this isn’t like Sharon.
In the park, Sharon imagines hearing Cassie’s voice and even sees an imaginary Nick, who tries to comfort her. She confesses that she doesn’t understand what’s wrong with her. Sharon feels she’s lost herself since Cassie’s death and struggles with feelings of failure and guilt. Nick tells her not to give up, reminding her of her capacity to love and the person he fell in love with.
Sharon feels overwhelmed by grief and believes that there is no real relief from losing a child. Despite her attempts to move on, the emptiness lingers. Nick suggests that Sharon should try to fall in love again, although Sharon feels that past relationships only provide temporary solace. Nick warns Victor that Lily should not be targeted as she hasn’t done anything to deserve that, though Victor believes she’s very capable and knows the company well. He’s concerned about her getting caught in the crossfire of their plans.
Just then, there’s a knock at Victor’s door, and it’s Devon, who has come in at Victor’s request. At Chancellor, Billy reassures Lily that he’s fine despite a rough night’s sleep. He downplays the situation, but Lily suspects that something is amiss, especially concerning Chelsea.
