In this week’s preview for The Young and the Restless, spanning August 5 to 9, there’s some intense drama unfolding. Kyle Abbott is in a heated situation concerning his son Harrison. Not only is he facing tension with his parents over his decision to leave his former CEO role and accept a new position at Glade, which is backed by Victor Newman, but he’s also clashing with Summer Newman over their son. Summer has secured a court order preventing Kyle from taking Harrison along on a business trip to Paris.
At the Abbott Mansion, Summer confronts Kyle, questioning his sudden return from Paris and pressing him about Harrison’s whereabouts. Kyle is clearly distressed and wants answers regarding what has happened to their son in his absence.
Meanwhile, Faith Newman has returned to Genoa City following a rough breakup with Moses. She has also confided in her father, Nick Newman, about her concern for her mother, Sharon. Faith has seen Sharon struggling and looking through Cassie’s scrapbook, which has left her feeling deeply troubled. Nick had hoped Sharon would bounce back once her new medication started working, but it becomes clear that Sharon’s issues are far more severe. She begins to be haunted by disturbing visions of the psychotic Cameron Kirsten. Sharon, in desperation, confronts Cameron, asking him why he won’t leave her alone. Cameron ominously responds that he’s there because she wants him to be.
In another shocking twist, Lucy Romalotti uncovers a devastating truth through a slip from her mother: Cassie was driving her drunk father home when the car crashed, ultimately leading to Cassie’s tragic death. Daniel Romalotti admits this is a regret he will carry forever, and he had planned to discuss it with Lucy when she was older.
As Lucy makes plans to attend a concert with Faith, Daniel is less than pleased, preferring she go with an adult. At the concert, things take a turn when Faith confronts Lucy about drinking, accusing her of possibly repeating the mistakes of her father. It looks like Lucy might be on a troubling path, echoing Daniel’s past mistakes.
