In the latest dramatic twist on “The Young and the Restless,” Kyle Abbott and Summer Newman’s post-marital discord has reached a fever pitch. The former couple is now embroiled in a bitter custody battle over their son, Harrison. But what neither Kyle nor Summer seems to grasp is that their recent behavior has already sealed their fate in this custody dispute.
A judge impartial to the Abbotts or the Newmans would likely see through the drama and recognize the issues at hand. Observing their tumultuous history, any reasonable judge might conclude that neither party is fit for sole custody. Given the volatile nature of their personal histories, it’s clear they might not be the best options for Harrison’s well-being.
In this scenario, an alternative candidate for custody could be Harrison’s biological mother, Tara Locke. If the judge were to consider Tara’s past, they’d see that she had previously threatened to withhold a part of her liver needed for Lola’s survival if Kyle didn’t marry her. Tara also had a tumultuous relationship history, including an affair with her own mother’s boyfriend, Billy Abbott, driven by spite. Additionally, Tara was quick to involve lawyers in her disputes with Kyle, showing a pattern of dramatic and self-serving behavior.
On the other hand, Kyle Abbott’s history is also problematic. The judge would have to account for his infidelity with Audra and his reaction to workplace troubles, which involved betraying his entire family in his quest to lead a rival company aimed at undermining them. Such actions don’t exactly paint him as a role model for Harrison.
Given the complexities of both Kyle and Summer’s past actions, if we were the judge, we might consider petitioning for Tara’s early release from prison so she could assume primary custody of Harrison. She could then establish a visitation arrangement with Kyle and Summer, potentially with supervision, considering the boy’s well-being and the tumultuous environment of his parents.
It’s clear that neither Kyle nor Summer’s recent behaviors make them ideal candidates for custody, and the ongoing battle may only complicate matters further. Stay tuned to “The Young and the Restless” for more updates as this dramatic custody battle unfolds!
