“There’s something undeniable about the relationship Bill and Katie have,” admits her portrayer, Heather

Tom, while contemplating the Bold & Beautiful pair’s first wedding, which she admits is one of her

“favorite memories.” Although a lot has gone down between the characters since first they exchanged

vows on November 13, 2009, the relationship remains one of the most popular in the show’s history.

“I look at photos from the day,” recalls Tom, “and I can’t help thinking how special and romantic it was. It really showed the hearts of these two people. It exemplified the changes they’d gone through. Bill wanted to fly off and have a big, extravagant wedding, but instead he made the choice to go back to her childhood home in the valley.”

Time — and her sister, Brooke — ultimately came between Bill and Katie, but the love they share has never faded. “There is a part of Katie that will always love him,” sighs Tom. “He’s the father of her son, although that’s not the only thing connecting them. But with Will back, it sort of triggers old memories in Katie. She’s always wondered what might have been. Her decision to stay away from Bill was kind of one of self-preservation. It hasn’t always been such a great thing to go back to him.”

Yet time and again, that’s exactly what’s happened. Interestingly, Katie’s interest in Bill seems to rise in direct correlation to what’s going on in his personal life. When he got involved with Sheila (if only to try and prove her a murderess), Katie all but said, “Dump her and reunite with me.” Similarly, Katie seemed ready to push Poppy right out of the picture when it looked like she might be a killer. Now that both Bill and Katie are romantically unencumbered, might they be reunion-bound?

At the end of the day, Tom admits, “Boll will always have a part of her heart.” The question is whether or not the mistakes of the past can be pushed aside in order to give them another shot at a future together!
