Never let it be said that The Bold and the Beautiful doesn’t know a good thing when it sees it. The soap, which already has six-time Emmy
winner Heather Tom front and center as Katie Logan — and directing episodes — has just made her a scriptwriter as well. During a recent
interview with Michael Fairman TV, the actress revealed that in addition to helming more episodes, “I’m also writing.
“I just finished my third script,” she added. “That’s kind of a new development.”
Tom joins castmate Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter) on the writing team, and their addition to the lineup seems smart. Who better than actors to know whether a line of dialogue sounds natural, is sayable, etc.? Maybe — we’re rooting for ya, kids! — they’ll even be able to move Bold & Beautiful away from the incredibly repetitious dialogue for which it is known.
Hearing the news, Don Diamont, whose Bill was just shot down by Katie, said, “There’s nothing shocking to me that she is a sensational director. Heather will be equally wonderful at writing as she is at acting, and as director, her creative mojo is just off the chart.
“She is just so gifted and so committed, and it all matters to her,” he went on. “I just cannot say enough. It is the best thing of my career to work with this wonderfully talented woman.”
