Recently, there’s been a lot of buzz about Victor Newman’s plans to take control of Chancellor Industries. While Victor claims his motives are to honor the legacy of his old friend, Catherine Chancellor, many fans believe his true intentions are more self-serving.

If Victor genuinely cared about preserving Catherine’s legacy and the integrity of her company, he wouldn’t be pushing to place his wife, Nikki, in charge. Instead, he would be reaching out to Catherine’s son, Brock. It’s clear from recent events that Victor’s actions are less about respect for Catherine’s memory and more about settling scores.

The show could take a different approach by bringing back the character of Brock, though there are challenges with this idea. The original actor who played Brock, Baze, passed away in 2014. However, the show could address this by recasting the role, potentially with a well-known soap star such as Michael Park from As the World Turns or Ben Guiding from Guiding Light. Although Brock hasn’t appeared on screen for over a decade, this could be a great opportunity to reintroduce him with a fresh perspective.

Another potential issue is that Brock has since become a man of God. While this might seem like a hurdle, it’s not unprecedented for soap characters to change careers or personal paths. For example, Nikki transformed from a stripper into a series of high-profile executive roles. Bringing Brock back as a lawyer who manages the charitable Chancellor Foundation could be a compelling twist.

This move would allow Billy to be ousted from the company, giving him the choice to stay or return to the Winters family. Additionally, it could open up opportunities for Phyllis, who could use a new focus outside of her meddling in her children’s lives.

Would this be a more sensible strategy for Victor than orchestrating a messy and hostile takeover of Chancellor Industries? It certainly seems like a more respectful and strategic move.
