Hello everyone, please hit the Subscribe button and give this video a thumbs up. Eric Braeden, known for his role on The Young and the Restless, has come forward to support Alec Baldwin amid his trial for involuntary manslaughter related to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust. Braeden expressed his outrage on social media, emphasizing his long experience as an actor since 1962, which includes numerous scenes with guns.
Braeden argues that actors, like Baldwin, are not responsible for ensuring guns are loaded or unloaded—that responsibility falls to the prop master and assistant director. He criticizes the notion of holding Baldwin accountable, insisting it’s unfair and unrealistic. Braeden, who has extensive experience with action scenes, points out that actors typically trust the crew to verify the safety of weapons. He believes Baldwin was assured the gun was safe, and thus, the blame should lie with the armorer and the assistant director, not the actor.
Though Braeden does not know Baldwin personally, he defends him strongly, stating that Baldwin, who began his career in daytime soaps like The Doctors before transitioning to primetime, should not bear the responsibility for the tragic accident. Braeden’s stance underscores his belief that the industry’s safety protocols should have prevented such a calamity.
