Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has clapped back at comments in response to her innocent social media video. The actress took to Instagram over the weekend to share a video in which she could be seen doing her makeup before heading to Lytham Festival.
The huge event took place over the weekend in the seaside town of Lytham St Annes, Lancashire with performances from Hozier, Shania Twain, Courteeners, Madness and James over the five-day event.
Lucy, who is famed for playing Bethany Platt in ITV’s Corrie, was seen alongside co-stars Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy Midgeley, and Dee-Dee Bailey actress Channique Sterling-Brown as they headed to watch country star Shania, fresh from her Legends performance at Glastonbury 2024.

After, Lucy took to Instagram to give a glimpse at how she did her makeup for the evening, saying in the caption to her 571,000 followers: “Just a lil get ready with me to go and see Shania Twain. I have linked allll the sturrrfff i have used on my ltk page.”
But it appears Lucy was surprised by the response. Among the comments was one follower who said: “Gorgeous, but I couldn’t be doing with all that fuss.” Another commented: “That’s a lot of make up, your naturally attractive anyway, don’t need it!”
Among those jumping to the mum-of-one’s defence was Channique, who took to the comment section herself and wrote: “A major slay in every way, imagine throwing shade at a face that looks like THIS. Embarazzing.”

Lucy, meanwhile, had her own say. Resharing the video to her Instagram Story, the 28-year-old wrote: “Ppl (women lol) are SO triggered at me wearing makeup. Maybe I LIKE making an effort when I get the opportunity to. Sorry if you don’t xx.”
Her fans and followers were also quick to respond. @grainnealice_ said: “These comments aren’t it especially coming from fellow women!! Beautiful either way ignore the comments Lucy!” @daniellebrannan_beauty wrote: “Oh my. So beautiful. Looks amazing.”
