Former Coronation Street star Thelma Barlow has disclosed whether she would consider returning to the soap.
The 95-year-old portrayed the character Mavis Wilton for 26 years from 1971 to 1997. She has recently joined the cast of a short film called Sleepless In Settle, where she will play a mother attempting to find a spouse for her son.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain today (Monday, July 1) presenter Ed Balls asked if she had considered a return to the cobbles.

He said: “I know you’ve said you aren’t going to go back if they came along now and said they had a new role for you, but aren’t you just a little bit tempted, a little cameo role if they came along with some idea?
“Maybe with Gail leaving, a Gail moment?” to which Thelma laughed as she said: “No. I’d be far too terrified. I’d be so frightened to do something that was commercial and in a big studio.
“It would be the pressure of the work that would frighten me to death.”

She added: “The pressure on me, you know how important it is to get it absolutely perfect.
“You know it was fine doing a film with friends because they’d forgive you immediately.”
Ed’s co-host Susanna Reid then asked: “Is there no way they can drag you back to Corrie?” to which Thelma admitted: “Never say no but I would just be too frightened.”
