Coronation Street has aired one of its most dramatic episodes in a while, as Mick Michaelis’s dark storyline finally came to a head on Monday.
Mick caused terror at both Weatherfield High and Underworld after carrying out a desperate plan to flee from prison to be reunited with his family.
Fans can see the high-stakes situation play out from 8pm on ITV1 tonight, or it’s also streaming early on ITVX and YouTube as usual.
Once you’ve seen the episode, check out our breakdown below of the main outcomes…

1. Sam’s trauma
Mick’s first stop was Weatherfield High, after learning that his daughter Joanie had been taken for a taster day there. By the time Mick turned up, Joanie had already left after being teased by the other kids over her criminal family.
Menacing Mick still had time to scare the other children, though, and Sam feared being left at the villain’s mercy when Lily locked herself in a classroom and stubbornly refused to let him join her.
The show has revealed that this scary moment will have a significant impact on Sam, as Nick notices that he’s not his usual self over the next few days…
2. Daniel’s new job
ITV
Mick’s decision to force his way into the school coincided with Daniel attending a job interview there. We can only assume this will mean no more teens will be sent to the STC – Daniel’s current workplace – for a while, requiring a change in direction and focus for the local teacher’s storylines.
Crawshaw admitted to Daniel that the interview was merely a formality, as she was short-staffed and knew he could get the job done.
With the pair bonding further over their ordeal facing off against Mick, it looks like Daniel’s new job is all but confirmed.
3. Kit’s stabbing
ITV
The action shifted locations when Mick turned up at Underworld, realising that Sally had taken Joanie there to distract her after a difficult day.
Kit was in hot pursuit as Mick threatened the lives of Tim, Sally and Sarah – the main people standing in the way of his plan to get Joanie back.
In a violent showdown between the old friends, Mick stabbed Kit and left him for dead.
Spoilers for Wednesday’s episode show Kit in hospital surrounded by his loved ones, still fighting for his life…
4. Mick’s big decision
ITV

After following Sally and Joanie onto the roof of Underworld, Mick finally saw sense when Sally tried to reason with him.
Sally pointed out that Joanie deserved better than going on the run with Mick, whose whole life has been defined by violence and rows. Joanie also stepped in by begging Mick not to hurt Sally.
For once, Mick was listening and gave himself up to the police for the sake of giving his family a better life. Is his time terrorising the Weatherfield residents finally over?
5. Sally’s fostering decision
ITV
In her final words to Mick, Sally promised him that she’d look after Joanie and Shanice and give the girls a more positive upbringing.
Sally was initially against the idea of fostering, but she seems to have been won round – especially as she reflected to Joanie about how much she misses her daughters Rosie and Sophie.
So, will Sally keep her promise? Could Joanie and Shanice be sticking around on the cobbles, staying with Sally and Tim?
6. Lou’s a flight risk
The police were all set to release Lou in Monday’s episode following her recent arrest for attacking Gary.
When news broke of Mick’s escape, though, Lou was branded a flight risk and denied bail.
While Lou is leaving the show, we haven’t seen the last of her just yet so expect some prison-based scenes coming up…
